OwnitApps is built on a simple premise: your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy describes how OwnitApps (“we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information in connection with our website (ownitapps.com) and our software tools.
The short version: We collect almost nothing. Our tools store nothing on our servers because they store everything on your device.
Our Software Tools
OwnitApps tools are single-file HTML applications. When you use an OwnitApps tool:
- All data is stored locally in your browser’s storage (localStorage or File System Access API) on your own device.
- No data is transmitted to our servers. We have no server infrastructure that receives your financial, health, or personal records.
- We have no access to what you store in any OwnitApps tool. We cannot read, access, modify, or delete your tool data.
- No account is required. We do not collect your name, email, or any identifier to use our tools.
This is not a privacy policy that promises to protect your data on our servers. It is a privacy policy that explains why your data never reaches our servers in the first place.

Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers) to understand aggregate traffic — page views, referral sources, general geographic region (country level). We do not build user profiles. We do not sell analytics data.
Contact and Purchase
If you contact us by email, we retain your email address and message to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to marketing lists without your explicit opt-in.
When you purchase an OwnitApps tool through our third-party store (Gumroad), your payment information is handled entirely by Gumroad. We receive your email address for purchase delivery. We do not store payment card data.
Server Logs
Standard web server logs may include IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes and are not used for marketing or sold to third parties.
Cookies
Our website does not use tracking cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not share cookie data with third parties.

Data Retention
- Tool data: stored entirely on your device, controlled entirely by you. We have no copy.
- Email inquiries: retained until resolved, then deleted within 90 days.
- Purchase records: retained for 7 years as required by tax regulations.
- Server logs: retained for 30 days.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold. Since we hold very little, most requests resolve quickly.

Because OwnitApps tools store data entirely on your device, we have no ability to access, export, or delete the data you store in your tools. That control belongs entirely to you.
Children’s Privacy
